Hooi Linn received her Honest degree in Biotechnology with Management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKM (The National University of Malaysia). In 2003, Hooi Linn joined Bestar Laboratories Pte Ltd, a swine and poultry vaccine manufacturing company in Singapore. She later joined Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) IMB Singapore OncoGenome (SOG) Group as Laboratory Officer working on high throughput DNA sequencing for screening genetic alterations in tyrosine kinase transcriptome of human cancer cell lines as well as study the role of FGFR4 in hepatocellular carcinoma progression. In 2009, she joined Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) – Infectious Disease Interdisciplinary Research Groups (ID-IRG) working with Prof. Jianzhu group. She works on cord blood processing to obtain hematopoietic stem cells for generating humanized mouse model. This model is used to study malaria and dengue infection as well as in drug testing (immnunotoxicity). She also provides technical support for postdocs in the field of histology, flow cytometry, molecular biology and animals model study.
