Vivian Vasconcelos Costa graduated in Physical Therapy from University Center of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil (2007). She has received her MSc (2009) and Ph.D. (2013) degrees in Biological Sciences with emphasis in Microbiology from Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where she worked mainly on the development of small models of Dengue virus infection and on the study of the mechanisms associated with the disease exacerbation and protection against virus infection in these models. She is currently a Postdoctoral Associate at Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre in Singapore and her research is on the humanized mouse model of dengue virus infection as a tool to understand the pathogenesis of the disease and for therapy testing. She has experience in Microbiology and Immunology with emphasis in viral infections and cellular immunology, respectively.
